Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies,* is a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), located at Noida, near India's capital city of New Delhi. Founded in April 1997, we are committed to advocacy and developing knowledge solutions for under-privileged societies through the use of innovative and effective Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Our activities are targeted to meet the needs of society in the development sector through research in the field of ICT, undertaking development projects through the usage of knowledge-sharing tools and products like print and electronic media, and building capacity through training programmes. Our multi-cultural team has expertise from across disciplines.

Jayalakshmi Chittoor has been invited to join the screening committee for issue of community radio licenses by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India, New Delhi.
Vignesh Sornamohan has been assigned the responsibility of being the content facilitator for Asia for telecentre.org online community.

The eHEALTH team were chosen media partner for Meditec Clinika 2008, one of the largest medical equipment and technology trade fairs in South India held from 1st to 3rd March 2008 at Chennai. Meditec Clinika 2009 will once again see eHEALTH as the media partners for the event scheduled from 21st to 23rd February 2009 at HITEX Exhibition Center, Hyderabad, India.
The eHEALTH team were designated media partners for the Med-e-Tel, held on 16 –18 April 2008 at Luxexpo, Luxembourg.
In April 2008, the eHEALTH magazine team from CSDMS was the media partner for the Global Healthcare Transformation Congress held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The First India Health Conclave held from 2 – 4 April 2008 in Mumbai saw the participation of the eHEALTH magazine team as media partners for the event.
eHEALTH was selected media partner for the Medical Tourism Asia 2008 conference held at Singapore between, 25 - 28 March 2008.
The 2nd Healthcare Investment Forum held in Mumbai, India, on 11th March 2008, saw the involvement of the eHEALTH team as media partners for the event.
The Medical Travel World Congress 2008 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 25 - 28 February 2008 by Magenta Global Pvt Ltd saw the presence of the eHEALTH magazine as media partners for the event.
During February 2008, Vignesh participated in the Knowledge sharing tour of Nenasala operators from Sri Lanka. He interviewed Nenasala operators, project implementers, and donors. 
The eHEALTH team from CSDMS were media partners for Health GIS 2008, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 14 - 16 January 2008. The event was organised by the Association for Geo-Information Technology (AgIT).
Digital Learning Celebrates Second Anniversary: Centre for Science, Development, and Media Studies (CSDMS) celebrated the second anniversary of Digital Learning, the monthly print publication on ICTs and Education, in January 2008. A special issue of the magazine was released engaging all the stakeholders of the Education sector.
The eHEALTH team were selected media partners for the Telemedcon 2007, held on 1 – 3 November 2007, Chennai.
The eHEALTH team were media partners for the Chesilab Expo- 2007, the annual Chennai Scientific Instruments & Lab Equipments Expo- An International Trade Exposition.
The digitalLEARNING team of Centre for Science, Development, and Media Studies (CSDMS) actively participated in the African Knowledge Exchange (AKE)- a two day workshop on 'A Multi-Country Workshop' on e-Learning, organised between December 3rd & 4th, 2007 at Nairobi, Kenya.
In December 2007, Vignesh attended and covered the launch event of Bangladesh Telecentre Network’s Mission 2011 at Dhaka, Bangladesh. It provided him with an opportunity to meet and network with telecentre.org’s partners in Bangladesh.
In December 2007, Vignesh attended and documented the Telecentre Leaders Forum 2007 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event was organised by telecentre.org and gave a new direction to the global telecentre movement. Vignesh along with Jayalakshmi Chittoor and Christine Prefontaine prepared a detailed report of the event which was published in the i4d magazine.
 •In December 2007, Vignesh attended the CPRSouth 2 conference. The focus of the conference was on empowering rural communities through ICT policy and research. The event saw participation from young and senior researchers on communication policies.
In November 2007, Vignesh Sornamohan and Anaam Sharma of CSDMS conducted a field study on Barefoot College in Tilonia, Rajasthan.
In September 2007, Vignesh Sornamohan and Shambhu Ghatak of CSDMS conducted a field study on the KATHA IT Schools working in the slum areas of Govindpuri, New Delhi.
In September 2007, Vignesh attended the Manthan Awards 2007 conference and exhibition. The conference focused on issues surrounding e-Content and Sustainability. The event provided a platform for various innovative e-Contents to be showcased and recognised with an award.
Centre for Science, Development, and Media Studies (CSDMS) chosen as core implementation and knowledge partner by Global e-Schools & Communities Initiative (GeSCI), an organisation founded by UN ICT Task Force, for providing strategic support in creating a consultative and collaborative ‘National Policy on ICT in School Education, under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
The i4d team of Centre for Science Development and Media Studies was media partner of Techshare India 2008, held in New Delhi on 4-5 February, 2008.
i4d worked as Media Partner in 2nd Global Forum on Business Incubation held on 6-10 November, 2006 in Hyderabad.
In January 2007, i4d worked as Media Partner in District Online Smart Transactions (DOST), a National Seminar on e-District Mission Mode Project (MMP), held in Hyderabad.

CSDMS’s very own e-governance magazine, egov has been chosen as media partner for the Asia-Pacific e-Gov Forum: Harnessing ICTs For More Efficient, Inclusive and Transparent Governance, to be held from 20th – 22nd May 2008, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The egov magazine team was media partner for the 2nd Connecting Rural Communities Asia Forum held from 15th–18th April, in Kerala India.
5th National Summit serving the Common Man through e-Governance: Sharing of Experience saw the egov magazine team’s involvement as media partners for this event held on 18 April 2008, in New Delhi, India.
The egov magazine team was media partner for the 11th National Conference on e-Governance held on the 7th and 8th February 2008, at Panchkula in Haryana, India.
The February 2008 issue of CSDMS’s egov magazine was launched at the 11th National Conference on e-Governance, Panchkula by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Chief Minister of Haryana.
The egov Solution Exchange Series-I held on January 2008 was hosted by egov magazine. This inaugural event served as a platform for learning and sharing for more than 50 delegates from public sector, private sector, media, academia and international organisations.
Digital Learning and the Indira Gandhi National Open University have launced a collaborative issue together; the May 2008 issue of Digital Learning focusses on the theme of distance learning and ICT in education.
