GIS Institute, a division of GIS Development Pvt Ltd, aims at imparting state-of-the-art education and training in Geo-informatics through long-term and short term training programmes, workshops, orientation programmes and customized thematic programmes in general and applied areas of GIScience.
The Institute has successfully trained 300 students through 24 batches of "Diploma in Geo-Informatics" in the last 3years. All the graduate students have been placed in different national and multinational companies, in India and abroad.

The course syllabus conforms to the UNIGIS distance learning course at the University of Salzburg, Austria and this is being offered in full time mode by the GIS Institute at Noida. The participant’s learning outcomes will be evaluated by the Z_GIS and the certification will be jointly issued by the University of Salzburg and GIS Institute.

Since 1990, UNIGIS is an international network of educational institutions cooperating in the design, development and delivery of Online Distance Education in GIScience. Presently, UNIGIS courses are offered by the institutions located in Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain and the United States of America.

Centre for GeoInformatics (Z_GIS) was established in 1989 as part of the Department of Geography and Applied Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg, Austria. Z_GIS played significant role in promoting and establishing GISytems in provincial governments, municipalities, national parks and other organisations in Austria and Europe during 1980s and 1990s. It is also one of the founding members of UNIGIS International network which offers Online Distance Education in GIScience worldwide. Z_GIS has experience of operating more than 30 GIS projects focusing on education, research and development and capacity building in Europe, Africa, America and Asia.
